The Beauty of Color Blocking: Version #1

The Beauty of Color Blocking is the simplicity and the minutia of the smallest of color difference between the shades of white shown above. Color Blocking is elegant when done right and is a minimalist work of art. Color blocking is pleasing to the eye when going for an all neutral look with just one added neutral shade for an added touch of warmth.

The white on white look shown in layers adds softness , and delicate flow to the over all look. The neutral camel color can also be switched out for a real pop color such as poppy red or a bright pink rose, but as you see here I decided to keep the colors calm and and subtle, like the mood I was in that day. Believe me though, I’m usually that bright pop of color kinda attitude and I don’t mind showing it of in statements of lipstick, jewellery and scarves. Shoes too if I got ’em.

The accessories I had chosen were from a couple of different places. The bracelets are from Nordstrom second floor circle of assorted accessories by the escalators. The necklace and the earrings are both from Tory Burch Chinook. Jacket from All Saints , Knit top, Silk long tank top, and pants from Club Monaco.

Lipstick is from MAC Nordstrom called Hug Me, also a very nude/natural lipstick that blends in well for this color blocking look. Makeup should be kept natural and soft for that minimalist feel making it feel clean and and fresh.
